The Wine Walk held in downtown Campbell in February was such a success that a fall edition is planned for Sept. 22.

Shops and restaurants along Campbell Avenue will be hosting winemakers, who’ll be happy to talk about their offerings in between pours. The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m.

Wineries taking part include Heart of the Mountain, Coterie Cellars, Roudon-Smith, Domenico, Poetic Cellars and Solis. In addition to the vino, there will be appetizers and live music at the sipping stops, and participants can take part in a Wine Walk Raffle to win a bottle to take home.

Tickets can be purchased for $25 in advance at www.downtowncampbell.com. Or you can buy them the day of the event for $30 at the registration area on the corner of First Street and East Campbell Avenue.

SHAKIN’ WITH THE QUAKES: Johnny Moore, one of the great players of the original San Jose Earthquakes, will be the keynote speaker Friday at Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s third annual fundraising dinner.

The casual-dress event at History Park in San Jose also will feature current Earthquakes players and coaches.

One of the highlights of the 6 p.m. dinner no doubt will be the presentation of the Andrew Bedard Spirit of the Game Award, recognizing this season’s most community-oriented Quakes player. The award, which has been given since 2008, is named for an Earthquakes fan who passed away at age 8 in 2004.

Andrew was a big fan of former Quakes goalie Pat Onstad, who joined other players and their families to support Andrew’s family after he died suddenly from an aneurysm.

Tickets to the dinner are $100, and proceeds underwrite the foundation’s activities to support Bay Area youth activities and preserve the region’s soccer history. For more information, go to www.ssvcf.org.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Cinequest has moved the dates of its 21st annual film festival to March 1-13, two days after the Academy Awards. Originally the festival had been planned to start in late February, with the Oscars falling in the middle of the movie fest.

Cinequest Director Halfdan Hussey said the dates were changed to create more opportunities for filmmakers and actors to attend by removing the conflict with the Oscars.
